Mindfield Have Released Awesome New Album "(W)Hole In The Head"

“...their music got the energy and the soul to it and they combine the two in a style which could be described as "American..." - Top Guitar

Mindfield was formed at the beginning of 2008. Thanks to the release of their debut EP entitled "Snap of Fingers" the band got into radio (e.g. Polish Radio Three) and many music magazines. What is more, they got the chance to share the stage with such bands as: Hey, Ira, Acid Drinkers, Coma, Myslovitz, Kult, Hurt and Frontside.

In 2010 Mindfield gained first place at all-Poland contest which took place at Cieszanów Rock Festival.

Later that year, Mindfield supported Acid Drinkers on a short tour. The year 2012 marked the release of their first LP entitled "Teeth Marks" which included eight tracks. In the same year Mindfield appeared and won at festival "Rokowa Noc" which was held in Rzeszów.

At the end of 2013 they got into the studio to work on the new album.

The new album entitled  "(W)Hole In The Head" was released earlier this year. The album features several guest appearances by members of bands such as Acid Drinkers (Tomasz "Titus" Pukacki), Decapitated (Rafa "Rasta" Piotrowski) and Los Agentos (Robert Lenert). The new album was mixed and produced by Jaroslaw Baran who had previously worked with Fear Factory, Virgin Snatch, Donatan, Cleo, Renata Przemyk.

Leapfrogtown Set To Release Debut Album "Dreaming In Public"

Leapfrogtown spawned, somewhat unexpectedly, in London in the spring of 2013.

Best described as a musical project, the band is the brainchild of musician, actor and artist Chris Guard and musician/producer Stuart Walton.

Influenced by everything from Talking Heads and Bowie to T.Rex and Underworld, Leapfrogtown takes an eclectic approach to production, letting the sounds serve the songs and the band serve the sounds.

The Leapfrogtown sound is diverse but distinctive, taking in elements of art rock, post-punk, rock, ska and guitar pop.

Speaking about Leapfrogtown, Chris said: “Our approach is direct, energetic and quirky. Our music videos have similar values as music is a multi-sensory experience.”

Leapfrogtown’s first single, the double A-side Dreaming in Public/Double Trouble was released to some great reviews.

Fear/In the Dark followed in spring 2014, with a promo directed and edited by multimedia artist and music video director Roger Spy – who has worked with Boy George, Jack Eye Jones, John Foxx and legendary producer Wizard (Rolling Stones, MIA, Brittney Spears, Chemical Brothers) among others.

Another double A-side, The Room/Flora Town was released in February 2015, and will be followed by Leapfrogtown’s debut album, “Dreaming in Public”, which is set to come out before the end of the year. It will be preceded by a new single, “Seven”, which is being released by indie label Coffee Jingle Records.

Roots Musician Chris Laterzo Releases His Fifth Studio Album "West Coast Sound"

Los Angeles based singer-songwriter and recording artist Chris Laterzo has managed to keep the muse alive with the release of his fifth and latest album West Coast Sound. Blending varying degrees of folk, rock, and alt- country, Laterzo is an artist who continues to create a unique style of song best described as American cowboy-rock. The spirit of the open road, the imagery of boundless landscapes and weathered travelers, the loping rhythms- as with Laterzo’s previous work, it’s all there in West Coast Sound.

Laterzo spends a great deal of time supporting his indie albums on the DIY touring circuit both solo and with his band Buffalo Robe, covering various parts of the US, and across the Atlantic to Europe. The core of Buffalo Robe is Laterzo - lead vox, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harmonica; Jeff LeGore — bass, background vocals; Dan Wistrom - electric guitar, pedal steel, acoustic guitar, background vocals; and Ron Pak — drums. Along with this seasoned group on West Coast Sound, Laterzo included many guest musicians from the burgeoning Los Angeles Americana scene; Bret Jensen - electric guitar/ John Bird and Paul Inman - piano/ Rami Jaffee - B3 organ/ Jesse Greene - violin/ Rachel Dean, Jen Gibbons, Devon Rowland - background vocals and Justin Smith and Denny Weston, Jr adding drums. Co-produced by Jeff LeGore and Chris Laterzo, West Coast Sound is a culmination of a seasoned artist dedicated to the craft of songwriting.

The title track, “West Coast Sound” kicks it off and was written by Laterzo after he came to terms with being an Angeleno. “Although my hometown is Denver and I still consider Colorado ‘home’, I also grew up in Brussels, Belgium and Boston, MA.” he laughs, “I now live in Los Angeles - and have for, oh my - how long did I say I was going to be here?” “Tumbleweed” is just that, a song about being on the road, rootless and where the wind takes you. “There ain’t no use in fixin’ to domesticate/ Or put a handle on a nomadic trait.”

“Echo Park” marks a change in the artists life — “ I still visualize sitting in the back room of my Echo Park house staring up at the near vertical backyard,” said Laterzo “Not only was the geography vastly different from Venice Beach, but my lifestyle had taken a turn - living with my girlfriend and having a kid.”

The 8-song album ends with “Chaperone” which Laterzo said was inspired by a dream. “I was visioning walking through past scenes of my life as if in a gallery and the thought that maybe having a chaperone/guide along the way would be fitting.”

Laterzo’s first three albums, American River (1997), Waterking (2002) and Driftwood (2004) found him experimenting with sounds from rock to folk and finding his signature sound which led Performing Songwriter Magazine to describe him as “a gifted melodist with an ear for hooks that sink in more deeply with each listen” and “...a worthy figure in a lineage that includes Neil Young and Gram Parsons.”

Laterzo’s fourth album, Juniper & Pinion (also co-produced by Laterzo and LeGore) established him firmly as an Americana rocker to be reckoned with. Without losing that cowboy rock trademark, West Coast Sound has more of an air of ease about its production and is a much more concise album. Laterzo explains, “This record I wanted the listener to be able to get in and out of the songs - and the album as a whole - in one breath. That’s one of the reasons I kept it to eight tunes and under 35 minutes. I write songs that I feel good about, and when I record them, I try to produce them in a manner where the production doesn’t become the song.”

With what has been described as his “sweet So-Cal drawl and confessional melodies” Laterzo has the ability to articulate things both moving and straightforward, which makes you realize he is a singer with an observant mind and a big heart.

Already a contender on the California music scene, this new record reaffirms that Chris Laterzo and West Coast Sound can compete with the best of Americana sounds nationwide.

Boston’s Love Love Releases First Full Length Eponymous Album

Twanging, Picking, And Power Chording Their Way Through A Lush American Sound

“I’d tell Chris Toppin to move to Nashville and make a million bucks penning tunes for country starlets, but I’m too selfish—I want her songs and her voice here in Boston.” — Jed Gottlieb, The Boston Herald

Recorded in Boston at Q-Division and Squid Hell Studios, Love Love is the band’s 2nd recording and 1st full-length studio album. Including 6 songs from the EP, Love Love fully represents the band’s musical and lyrical scope, with beautiful harmonies, complex arrangements and smart songwriting.

The core of the band, Love Love, is Chris Toppin on lead and backing vocals, acoustic and bass guitar; Jefferson Davis Riordan on lead and backing vocals, acoustic and electric guitar and drums and Darren Ray on lead guitar. Love Love, the record also boasts many guest musicians from the rich Boston music scene and often adds a horn section and pedal steel to the mix.

Formed in 2013, Love Love is the sound of two extremely talented singer-songwriters, joining together in life and music, to create songs that bring out the best in both artists. Chris Toppin was co-founder of the 1990’s successful rock band, Fuzzy that were signed to Atlantic Records and toured extensively with The Lemonheads, Belly and Dinosaur Jr. After taking a decade off to raise her children, Toppin rejoined the music scene after volunteering and becoming inspired by Girls Rock Camp Boston. “(they) gave me the courage to take the risk and leave my 9-5 job and start doing music again,” she said. “The past few years, I’ve had a transformation because of them. I owe them a lot.”

Toppin and Jefferson Riordan (Evelyn Swoons, The Almightys) knew each other from singing back-up vocals and drumming, respectively, for others for five years. She discovered that Riordan wrote and sang when he asked her to sing back up on one of his own songs. Fond of reflective love songs and murder ballads, Toppin and Riordan share songwriting credits for 13 of the 14 songs on the album.

“Murderpedia" was the first song that Chris and I worked on together,” said Riordan. “When I discovered that Chris enjoyed writing about murder, I said to myself, ‘this is a girl I have to be writing with!”

“Hey Fella” is a sultry, odd-timed rocker — and a favorite of guitarist, Darren — that features a brilliant solo by Russell Chudnofsky, guitarist for Tanya Donelly, among others. “Dreaming” was written in early summer 2014 when Riordan and Toppin went through a period of intense romance between them and the dreamy and longing qualities reflect their mood at that time. “Big Backyard Moon” well represents the overarching positive and sincere perspective of the band; it also reflects their traditional country leanings, which surface regularly.

“Wide Open Skies” is a song that highlights the beauty of Toppin’s voice and her knack for great melodies. “Skin” is suggestive of prog rock and features a fabulous horn section with Toppin and Riordan pulling double-duty as the rhythm section.

The record ends with “Bright Morning Stars” which is a traditional tune. “Chris had a version done by Gillian Welch and Dave Rollins,” said Riordan. “We based our version on that, but made some on-the-fly alterations. The recording is from her cell phone, the first and only recording we ever made of it. The room was electric.”

Playing to sold-out audiences in Boston, Love Love has already garnered critical acclaim from Twangville, -- “a captivating folk storytelling style” — to Performer Magazine — ‘intricate storytelling… something for any listener” — to the Boston Herald and more.

With inspirations from The Pixies to Yes, to Neil Young and George Jones, and rotating band members ranging in age from 23-53, the variegation mirrors Love Love’s ethos: Take from everywhere and everything, but make it your own.

“Chris and I are old by rock standards,” Riordan reasons, “and we are also NOT striving to recreate any ‘glory days’ or to market nostalgia. We are creating the most honest, earnest and best music we can create.” He continues, “We blend styles and instrumentation. We write about dark themes and wrap them up in packages of beauty.  We are a dual (male and female) lead-singing outfit with accomplished and varied instrumentation. In all of these ways, we are distinctive.”

Love Love is the sound of two extremely talented singer-songwriters with an unquestionable blend of voices that sets them apart from the crowd. Weaving roots and rock with psych-country and soul, Love Love will stand out for it’s catchy songs, moving lyrics and tight harmonies.

Love Love had an official release date of Friday, October 16th.

Tawny Ellis Releases New EP Ghosts Of The Low Country: The Muscle Shoals Sessions

Recorded At FAME Studios In Muscle Shoals, Ellis Conjures Up Ghosts To Create A Southern Gothic Blend Of Folk, Rock And Alt-Country

A native of Savannah, GA and now living in Los Angeles, Tawny Ellis traveled back to the South to record, Ghosts of the Low Country, her 6th recording and 2nd EP.

While, on tour in the South with her longtime collaborator and husband, Gio Loria and inspired by the documentary, Muscle Shoals, the two dropped by the renowned Fame Studios. As fortune would have it, they met with Producer and Founder, Rick Hall, who invited them to record after they had finished with their tour. “We had only ten days left of the tour”, explains Ellis, “and in those ten days Ghosts Of The Low Country was written.”

Playing a few dates with the Athens, GA band, Five Eight, guitar player Sean Dunn and drummer Patrick Ferguson joined in on the fun. “We all made our way back down to Alabama and practiced and arranged the songs we had in mind,” said Ellis. Adding bassist Peter Hamilton Ellis concedes, “It came together very quickly the night before we recorded and then we hit it in the morning! It was challenging and intense, but ‘Ghosts Of The Low Country’ is one of my favorite songs I have written to date.”

While playing a date at the County Fair, Ellis and Loria met Muscle Shoals native, Jason Isbell backstage. Isbell had recorded several times at Fame studios and Ellis and Isbell shared the same engineer when mastering their records, Pete Lyman at Infrasonic Mastering. “Everything about this record was kismet, “ said Ellis. The sounds on Ghosts Of The Low Country are as soulful as the region and bring to life the aspects of music and song indicative not only of Tawny Ellis and Gio Loria, but of the very landscape of Muscle Shoals.

From throaty to wistful, Ellis is in control of her voice and able to pull on her Southern roots at will. Guitar Magazine described her voice as “…the sort of voice one could make a meal of, in the vein of Neko Case or Ray LaMontagne — not to mention country singers from years, if not ages, past.”  The record contains 2 original songs and 2 covers. The title track renders the story of Teh-La-Nay, a Native American of the Yuchi tribe forced from her home to a reservation in Oklahoma and her near decade travel back to her Tennessee River, the “Singing River” located in Muscle Shoals neighboring town of Florence.  “Desperate Tonight” is a Five Eight original that brings the band’s own sound together with Ellis and Loria. Patsy Cline’s “Walking After Midnight” is an homage to the artist she is often compared to. “Evolve or Die” is an older track that was chosen by Ellis a song that deserved the particulars, rarities and royalties of a Fame studio recording.

Besides the songwriting and vocals, Ellis contributes lap steel guitar to the record. She picked it up 4 years ago after watching longtime neighbor and friend Daniel Lanois play. “Watching him has taught me a lot,” she said, “He is he best so I spy on his moves. I have a long way to go but I am dedicated to this blend of the lap steel and my voice together.” She talks about meeting him in 2008, “We talked about the CD I had just released and his belief that songwriters should write classic songs and not to worry about genre, to be a timeless artist. Since then he has subtly guided me with his philosophies and inspired me with his work ethic. His heartbeat is music and everyday his life is a testament to his commitment.” The multi-talented Gio Loria is also a musical inspiration to her. “He believes in me so much and he encourages me to write more and play more. We’ve been playing together since the day we met.”

Ellis’ talent doesn’t end with music. She’s an accomplished sculptor with an ancestral connection to one of the world’s most famous sculptors/painters, Edgar Degas. Working in bronze, wire and cement, she’s had gallery showings in Los Angeles, New Orleans and France and her work can be found all over the world. Lanois happens to also be a fan of her artwork and has recently commissioned a hand sculpted fret board.

“I was sculpting at a very young age,” she explains, “I feel like it is my natural state to be creating things otherwise I am no good.” She claims that being a sculptor has helped her to see music in textures. “I create to live and performing is my most natural state.  I need that communication with people, it’s a language that makes me feel alive and excited to be here. It’s so mystical — the language of music and art. I can’t get over how it takes down boundaries we have as people trying to communicate with one another. It gives great understanding where there would be none. Music is the great healer.”

This is one great EP and you can purchase it as a digital download or BUY DIRECT and get a signed CD directly from Tawny. This EP will not disappoint!!

Jeff Crosby And The Refugees Release "Waking Days"

Songs About Love, Heartbreak, Being On The Road And The Realities Of The New American Dream

For a young man, Jeff Crosby has lived the life of someone older. Playing 250+ shows a year from the ages of 19-25 , he has traveled throughout Central and South America, the Dominican Republic and many European countries in between shows. Crosby has played with Reckless Kelly, Shinyribs, Mickey and the Motorcars and Lukas Nelson. Now he divides his time between touring with Jerry Joseph and The Jackmormons and his band, The Refugees and making LA, Nashville and Boise all home bases.

With 2 EPs and 2 Full-Length releases behind him, Crosby now adds another notch to his musical belt with Waking Days. The 10 song LP was recorded in Los Angeles at Bedrock Studios and in Nashville and was produced by John Gilbertson and engineered in Nashville by Rob Matson. Featuring his band The Refugees--brother Andy Crosby (bass), Will Prescott (drums) and Dave Manion (pedal steel/guitar), Crosby also adds some stellar guest musicians. His guest crew consisted of Brian Whelan on pedal steel (Dwight Yoakam), Marshall Vore on drums (Ryan Adams/Olin & The Moon), Fran Breem on drums (The Waterboys/Lucinda Williams), Ben Waligoske on guitar (Springdale Quartet) and Adrian Engfer on standup bass (Grant Farm).

Waking Days blends the sounds of Americana; folk, and 70’s inspired psychedelic rock. “I’m in a much different head space musically since the last record,” said Crosby, “This record has more soundscapes and has stretched out the atmospheric tones that are floating around the songs.”

With a voice that Brian Carroll of No Depression calls, “incredible, unique and such a pleasure to listen to”, Crosby has created a personal record that also highlights relatable lyrics. “I think it’s an exciting time to be involved in the music scene of the U.S.”, Said Crosby, ‘I personally see people seeking out real roots music – music where they can be a part of the story. I think people are empowered by the music they find that is original and special.”

“City Girl” kicks off the set and was inspired by a conversation with a young woman at a bar in L.A. “I was imagining the same scenario played out nightly for her,” said Crosby.

“She says you country boys must be so leathered by your instincts” with the second chorus responding, “I say you city girls must be so leathered by your dreamin”.

“Carved In Sandstone” was written while Crosby was in the Dominican Republic and recorded in Nashville. It references a giant cross that looks out over the city of Boise, ID and where people have littered the sandstone with carved out names. “Carved our names in sandstone under the cross—Tennessee got the best of me”.

“Homeless And The Dreamers” was the first song Crosby wrote after moving to LA. “We don’t have a lot of homeless people in Idaho, so I was really affected by it in the first months. I couldn’t stop imagining what their day consisted of.”

“Red White and Blue” is a very personal song that Crosby said, “Was pulled straight out of my journal.” Featuring Brian Whelan on pedal steel, Crosby claims, “I was so lucky to get Brian Whelan just after he was leaving Dwight Yoakam’s band and heading out on his own. He just nailed it and tapped right into the vibe and feeling of the song.”

“Canyons” was written for an old friend of Crosby’s that has passed. “Some of my first gigs were at a little pizza place called Crusty in McCall, ID. The owner, Vern Loveall gave me my first paying gig,” recalls Crosby. “$80. I sat in my car and counted it over and over again.” “Emily” speaks to a lost love, “Sometimes when you’re driving/and the moon shows through the pine trees/Maybe you think of me, Emily”.

“I Should Be Happy” contemplates life choices, while “Only One I Need” speaks to the one person that believes in you and keeps you going — “This city life and trying to ride on hope gets old/when it feels like everybody’s doing the same thing”.

“What’s Normal Now?” is a rocking homage to the 90’s. “John Gilbertson and I share a mutual love for 90’s rock,” said Crosby, “Plus I just wanted to cut something loud”. Ending with the title song, “Waking Days” the song is about defining your own American dream — “Too scared to open my eyes under the water/as the red white and blue bleeds into the black and white”.

“I believe Jeff Crosby is the authentic item,” said Jerry Joseph, “If I had half a brain, I would quit playing music and manage him...there’s a whole lot of the Laurel Canyon vibe in his writing, but at the end of the day, he’s from Idaho.”

On his music and songwriting, Crosby said, “I think it’s the conversations I have, places I go, people I meet. Hotels, hostels, dive bars, discotecas, cantinas, rock clubs and festivals — these all feed my perspective of Americana and the new American dream. The experiences I have are what make my songs unique. I think I have an interesting story to tell.”

"This is unusually tuneful, well-hooked and atmospheric music, and it comes supercharged with jingle-jangle guitar work, road-weathered vocals and memorable, introspective lyrics."--Jeff Burger, The Morton Report/No Depression

"The music and vocals remind me of the the glory days of Laurel Canyon and up to Steve Earle, “Guitar Town”. If you shut your eyes and sing along, you’ll find yourself walking down the banks of the railroad tracks, 3 miles from home , kicking stones thinking about life while you smoke some cigarettes." —50Thirdand3rd “Record of the Day”

"With a release date of November 6, 2015, this release is an interesting blend of multiple music genres including folk, Americana and 70’s inspired psychedelic rock.”--AXS Examiner

This LP is quite good and you can purchase it either as a CD or digital download, you will not be disappointed!!

THE HEAVY EYES Set To Release "He Dreams Of Lions" On CD & Vinyl

Following on from their 2011 self-titled debut and 2012’s successful 'Maera' album, the Memphis heavy psych trio ‘THE HEAVY EYES’ return to the fold this November with their most accomplished record to date.

Over eleven tracks, amidst the unbridled rawness of ‘Saint’, the sheer weight of ‘Z-Bo’ and R’n’B shake appeal of ‘Smoke Signal', hypnotic hard rock riffs are delivered thick and fast through distorted fuzz boxes, gnarled bass lines and levee breaking drum beats..

This is an album that draws heavily from the heaviest (Led Zeppelin, Humble Pie, Mountain) and in doing so turns out new ideas with a punishing authenticity and honesty in line with their Memphis blues heritage.

This is THE HEAVY EYES, one of rock and roll’s best and brightest!

Tripp Shumake – Vocals, Guitars

Earlier this year, they launched their UK Based UK/EU store so as to make the postage of their records cheaper for you. They also promised exclusives and they’re now delivering on those lofty promises!

They are happy to announce P+P's "Welcome To The UK" comp, which features some of their favourite UK friends and bands!!

The compilation is HUGE and contains first listens from: Ducking Punches, Good Friend, The Run Up and Question The Mark.

Ducking Punches will be no strangers to fans of the UK scene for good reason, they are hardworking and their songwriting is peerless. Their upcoming LP is widely anticipated and P+P are beyond stoked to have the honour (and they mean that in the truest sense of the word) to give you the first glimpse of that record.

Good Friend (who hail from Northern Ireland) are a fantastic up and coming talent already writing songs of a quality way-beyond their years, expect more from them (including an exclusive video release) later in the year.

The Run Up From Bristol are the South-West UK’s Strike Anywhere/Iron Chic Hybrid, most likely playing a town near you in the early part of 2016. The Run Up shall be releasing their EP in the early part of 2016 and the track featured on the compilation ‘Lately’ is your first glimpse of that EP.

Wales’s Question The Mark provide a demo/glimpse of their upcoming record.  Historically one of the UK scenes hardest working gruff bands they have taken a backseat of late but keen to get back into the saddle and we cannot wait to see it.

The compilation also features recently released songs from Bear Trade, Mixtape Saints and Deadlines. It is all killer, no filler and completely free.

About the Compilation Mark Bussey (Paper + Plastick, UK) said: "We have so much talent here in the UK and we are privileged to be able to feature so much of that, including a number of high profile first listens".

DEATHRONIC - Duality Chaos (2013)

DEATHRONIC is a Parisian one man band created by Amine Andalous in 2010.

DEATHRONIC is experimenting with a sound that could be called Symphonic Black Death Metal, combining several influences such as electronic music, oriental, doom and old school heavy metal!

In late 2011 Deathronic entered The Parlours Studios, in Kettering UK and began recording his first album, “Duality Chaos” with Neil Haynes as engineer. The vocals were recorded in March 2012 at the Audio Sound Art Studio in Berlin and engineered by Laurentx Etxemendi (Gojira etc.).

"Duality Chaos" was mixed & mastered in April 2012 by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman (Dimmu Borgir, At The Gates, Opeth, In Flames, etc.) - the famous Gothenburg Sound!

The main concept behind “Duality Chaos” is human violence, a theme which is very present both in the lyrics and on the album's artwork. Amine explains:

“The idea is to denounce how humans are, still today, bestial beings. The contemporary bloody conflicts are a perfect example of this. Mankind continues to kill for irrational reasons. In this sense, real progress, real evolution is not measured by our technological innovations, but progress in acquiring wisdom, “progress of mind". I think that the origin of that violence is the internal duality of human beings (the struggle between Good and Evil). Many of the worst atrocities are perpetrated in the name of subjective notions of good or bad… A duality that gives birth to chaos.”

All music and lyrics written & performed by Amine Andalous. The artwork is by SEPTICFLESH's Seth Siro Anton. “Duality Chaos” was released January 28th 2013.

Jane Telephonda To Release 'Transmuted Saltness' November 27

Based out of Kópavogur City, Iceland, Jane Telephonda are husband and wife Ívar Páll Jónsson and Ásdís Rósa Þórðardóttir. Inspired by the sounds of the the classics to the contemporaries including Bowie, Sufjan and Wilco to Grizzly Bear, Of Montreal, and Queen, Ívar began writing music at age 16. Songwriting quickly became an addiction to him and a way of life, as he spent hours each day with his guitar and four-track recorder. During the next 15 years, he wrote on average a song a day, providing him with the practice necessary to hone his songwriting skills.

In 2011, he started writing his first ambitious release, the 2014 concept album "Revolution in the Elbow of Ragnar Agnarsson Furniture Painter". Subsequently he received a nomination for the 2014 Icelandic Music Awards and the album was received with rave reviews in the US coinciding with its theatrical stage adaption at the Minetta Lane Theater in NYC in the summer of 2014.

Ásdís was featured on the Revolution as well, and with the birth of the couple’s third child last year, making music at home became a necessity. Says Ívar: “In a way our hectic family life became an inspiration and a motivation for recording and writing songs, because we didn’t want to abandon our passion for music. Certain time had to be allotted for anything that did not involve dirty diapers, and that provided us with the frame necessary to get things done.” Asked about the origin of their name, Ásdís is quick to confess her admiration for Jane Fonda as a character actress. Combined with Ívar’s love for his phone, their fourth child was given the name Jane Telephonda. “It seemed like the natural way to go,” they add, straight-faced.

Jane's first single, Transmuted Saltness, is out worldwide November 27, 2015 on Brooklyn indie label Mother West. Produced by Ívar and Charles Newman, Transmuted Saltness is an up-beat anthem, celebrating the absurdity and beauty of life. With a string of singles to be released starting this fall and into 2016, expect another brilliant music export from Iceland to your ears.

“As a country of breathtaking views, ancient heritage, and home of great musical talent, Iceland has something new to stamp its name’ - Baeble Music

“This is an amazing accomplishment and it’s some of the best music our world has ever heard. The inspiration behind the music is genius and the collected community effort to realize it will provide a testament to the best of our age for all time to come.” - Eric Petersen, RUST MAGAZINE, on Revolution

This is a great single, with the only criticism being that it's too damn short..... more please!

You'll be doing your ears a huge disservice if you don't purchase it come November 27.

Rob Carona Set To Release 'Drive EP'

Born and raised in San Diego, but with roots deep in the heart of Louisiana, Rob's music brings together a pop/country vibe with a soulful edge that is a refreshing new sound in today's music scene. His music is a sunset on a SoCal beach mixed with a home cooked meal on mama's front porch.

With humble beginnings of playing open mic nights and coffeeshop venues, Rob's engaging performances and heartfelt lyrics landed him in the studio and on stage with music giants such as Brian McKnight and Kenny Chesney. Having gathered inspiration from Keith Urban, John Mayer, and Need To Breathe, Rob has a unique style and persona that is captivating while remaining accessible and relatable to his audience. Whether he is performing in an amphitheater or a stripped down acoustic venue, Rob knows how to keep an audience of all ages engaged with song and story.

His debut EP, Drive, is more than the sum of its parts. A truly homegrown effort, Rob wrote, performed, and produced the entire project. Rob is donating 40% of the EP's royalties to Heart Songs for Veterans and organization who utilizes music as a vehicle to financially support other Veterans organizations and Wounded Soldiers. With a deep patriotic spirit in his heart and family members who serve it was a perfect fit to partner with the organization. It's a gamble that seems to have paid off for an up and coming artist. Included are some hard hitting country/rock tunes like "Drive" and "Spark" which carry an inspirational message of pursuing your dreams and living life to the fullest that Rob anthems out both on and off the stage. Songs like "Wild One", "Heartbreak", and "Waiting On Wonderful" breathe fresh life into the classic themes of love and love lost. One thing is for sure, every song on the EP tells a story anyone can relate to and slides a slick hook right into the listener's ear and never lets them go.

The mission of "Drive" and Rob's life in general is to make a stand and say to the masses that your story matters and your dreams are worth the risk. "It's the willingness to take the journey, no matter how long the road might seem, that separates the world-changers from those that only daydream about their destiny." - Rob Carona

Gold Afternoon Fix is the sixth album by the Australian psychedelic rock band The Church, released in February 1990. It was their second album for Arista Records in the US and was expected to capitalise and build on the success of 1988's Starfish. The album saw considerable promotion upon its release, but despite moderate success in the US, with the single "Metropolis" reaching the top of the Modern Rock Tracks chart, the release failed to deliver mass commercial appeal.

Following their tour for the Starfish album in 1988, the band members went home for a four-month break before reconvening to begin work on the next album. Arista demanded demos of all the tracks before the official recording process could begin. Consequently the band was tired of the material by the time the recording sessions commenced in late 1989. Further difficulties arose when the band wanted ex-Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones to produce, but the record label wanted to team the band again with L.A. session musician Waddy Wachtel and engineer Greg Ladanyi, not wanting to change what had been a winning formula. Arista feared a Jones/Church collaboration might turn out too arty and non-commercial and vetoed the venerable musician in favour of the safer (and commercially tested) Wachtel, although Ladanyi was left out. Band members repeatedly noted how much they had disliked recording Starfish. That album's song "North, South, East And West" had been an indictment of Los Angeles' shallower aspects.

The recording sessions for the album were particularly fraught and in-band tensions led to drummer Richard Ploog being ostracised. While some of the bare, open sound that characterised Starfish punctuates the recording, the use of programmed drums instead of Ploog's live performances on all but three tracks resulted in the album being criticised as somewhat stiff and cold. According to biographer Robert Dean Lurie, the demo recordings for Gold Afternoon Fix were more successful than the finished album, despite their roughness. Ploog left the group for good following the recording and former Patti Smith Group drummer Jay Dee Daugherty was brought in for the tour.

Despite the album's title, Steve Kilbey was not yet using heroin at this point. He only started smoking (not fixing) the drug after the subsequent tour, having been introduced to it by Grant McLennan of The Go-Betweens. The title actually derives from a stock market term relating to the daily price which is set for gold.

The album is unique among the Church's releases in the absence of any 12-string electric guitar. The missing trademark sound was due to guitarist Marty Willson-Piper's 12-string Rickenbacker having been stolen during the previous tour.
